La Bianchi Centenario è una bicicletta che non ha bisogno di presentazioni, appare nel catalogo 1985 di casa Bianchi per festeggiare il centenario della più antica fabbrica italiana di biciclette ancora oggi attiva.
Nasce infatti nel 1885 la fabbrica di Treviglio e, come sottolinea il titolo del certificato di proprietà, la Bianchi è "in testa da cent'anni"
La Bianchi in occasione del centesimo anno di attività ha scelto di rappresentare se stessa con un prodotto che richiamasse una delle componenti determinanti della sua immagine sia a livello nazionale che internazionale: "la corsa".
"la Corsa" è sempre stato un settore in cui la bianchi ha primeggiato fin dai tempi di Tommaselli e Girardengo. Coppi, Gimondi con numerosi altri protagonisti sono stati le perle del cast di atleti che nel tempo hanno rappresentato degnamente la Bianchi.
L'immagine della Bianchi è sicuramente derivata dalle imprese che per tanti anni hanno saputo portare il colore Bianco-Celeste davanti a tutti.
Soprattutto per queste considerazioni abbiamo creduto che l'importante ricorrenza del "Centenario Bianchi" potesse essere rappresentata da una bicicletta da "Corsa Specialissima".
Così recita il paragrafo del libretto di proprietà che descrive il perché di una bicicletta speciale per il centesimo anniversario, sottolineando che la specialissima del centenario è una vera bicicletta da corsa.
